Toronto Court Expands Matters to be Heard Virtually

Toronto courts continue to expand its virtual operations as well as the list of matters it will hear in writing, telephone or video conference.  Starting May 19, 2020, the Toronto expansion protocol for civil court hearings will include motions and applications made without notice, on consent of all parties, and that are confirmed as unopposed.  As well, all opposed short motions and applications will be subject to review in writing before being scheduled.  There are other procedures and protocols outlined for actions and hearings governed by the Construction Act, commercial and estate list, bankruptcy, class action matters and more.  Click here for further details.
