After articling with the Government of Newfoundland & Labrador in 2012, Emily worked in private practice for three years with leading regional East Coast firms. In 2016, she moved her practice home to Toronto, where she has developed a niche providing on demand services to boutique law firms, businesses, and individuals.
Her expertise is in providing in-house counsel services on a project basis. She has advised companies of all sizes, from start-ups to international conglomerates, on corporate law and governance, immigration, employment, and intellectual property matters.
Emily’s focus is on providing innovative, solution-focused, empathetic and practical service to her clients. She knows her clients do not need just any lawyer, but one who understands their reality and provide workable legal solutions that really make sense.
She has a special love for media and the arts, having been involved in acting, music, writing, and photography since she was a child. Her interests have led her to sit on a regional board of CARFAC and to welcome artists into her practice at appropriate rates, ensuring they get the creative and tailored legal advice and representation they deserve. Outside of work Emily loves exploring the outdoors through sailing, running and skiing. She’s an avid traveller, and regularly seeks out experiences in music, art, food, media, and culture.
